Mary Ray Worley Spotlighted
Here's a very cool little piece from Madison, Wisconsin's Capital Times looking at Mary Ray Worley. Mary Ray is NAAFA's spokesperson, and this is a positive article. Nice!

If only all fat people could
If only all fat people could be as happy and confident as Mary Ray Worley now is. This is my daily prayer--I have a statue of Hotei, the Chinese god of good fortune, who is smiling and fat, and it is my hope and wish that all fat ppl can one day be like him. It is my prayer for all fat people to stop the self hatred and come to love their bodies for the truly wonderful creations of God that they are.

Aww shucks! Thanks for the
Aww shucks! Thanks for the kind words. I was really pleased with the article too. I hope it will help me find some like-minded people here in Madison. I'd love to get a little size acceptance group going here, but I've had a heck of a time finding people who want to participate in such a thing. I tried starting a reading group at a local bookstore, but that didn't even raise a ripple. I signed up for the BBW meetup, but nothing ever came of that either. I'd love to hear any ideas others might have about how to connect with other people in your area.

Good luck Mary, I've been
Good luck Mary, I've been trying the same thing here, so far no takers tho I do have an in with the body image task force that was organized by some faculty and students here at the U a couple of years ago and sponsored by the Women's Center. Even they are having troubles getting weekly meetings going.
