Sheana
I'm a Women's Studies grad student at San Diego State University, by way of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, where I co-founded and was the co-chair (and later, chair) of Size Matters, the school's anti-sizeism organization. We put on the very small and very humble and very fun Fat and the Academy conference last April. My current research focuses on the history of fat liberation in the U.S. and on representations of fat women in popular culture, specifically in contemporary film and television.
I brought my partner with me to California, but we both left our hearts in New England. Hopefully, we'll move back there someday soon.
