An Autobiography

I'm a body acceptance/fat acceptance newbie. I spent probably 30 of my 41 years on and off diets, but I've decided that I don't want to be caught in that mindset anymore. I hit 41 and suddenly realized that I am who I am. And guess what? That am is FAT. And that's not going to change. And it doesn't have to change. It doesn't make me a bad person, or a failure, or unattractive any more than my brown eyes do. It's hard letting go of 30 years of pressure and ideas and stereotypes but I'm worth it. I wish I'd come to this realization earlier, but I guess I wasn't ready. Life's too short to worry about something that is what it is.

I live and work in Amarillo, TX but I was born and raised in Kansas City. I've been a librarian for 16 years and worked as a medical library for 13. I have an older brother and sister, two wonderful nieces and a 10 year old Puggle named Mugsy. I'd be the stereotypical old maid librarian if not for that fact I'm allergic to cats.
