I'm 22 years old and struggling to understand the way others view me. I've always been fat. When people suggest, after tip-toeing around the situation like crazy, that I lose weight, I get furious. While I've always had problems with depression and body image issues, there has always been that underlying layer of ideas in my head: that it isn't my fault I feel like this; that I SHOULDN'T have to change myself if I don't want to. I'm not all that well at articulating this stuff, which is bad because I graduated from college with an English degree and a women's studies minor--you'd think I'd have some kind of ability.
