The comments on the Think Out Loud page are less than thrilling, but Carrie sounded great on the air. Poised, rational, and calm.
I hope they post the show to their podcast soon, though, because I missed part of it!
Broke my 'don't read the comments' rule, hoping for something a little more balanced on a public radio site. Unfortunately it's one of those boards where you have to register to reply, and bugmenot isn't much use these days since word got round.
However had I been allowed to have my say I'd have certainly had some choice words for the commentator who dismissed our refusal to be referred to as 'obese' because the word 'implies the amount of disgust that should accompany such awful overconsumption'. Maybe 'kindly go boil your head' would have conveyed the right impression
Furthermore, I still don't understand why everyone seems to feel the need to automatically evangelise about their 'weight loss miracle - you can do it too' (even to the point of OA spam!) on *any* thread about the politics of fat.
Very much looking forward to the podcast though.
